Dual Enrollment/Running Start Webinar

Imagine If. . .

  • Students could experience college before high school graduation.

  • Students could enroll in coursework that earns them BOTH high school & college credit.

  • Students could graduate high school with 3, 6, 15 college credits-- even an associates' degree--  before graduation reducing the cost of a college education and broadening opportunity.

  • The state covered the expense.

NH Has Made This Possible!

NH School Boards Association Workshop: Dual Enrollment Opportunities for Students

Dual Enrollment Opportunities for Students - Thursday, November 8, 2018

"Dual enrollment" programs are college courses taught by instructors from the community college system of New Hampshire (CCSNH) in which high school students earn college credits while students are still enrolled in high school or a career technical education center. In 2017 new legislation was enacted that allows New Hampshire 11th and 12th grade high school students to take up to two concurrent or dual enrollment STEM or STEM related designated courses each academic year free of charge. This workshop will focus on academic opportunities, funding mechanisms, and what school board members need to know about credits earned and access to these programs for students.

NH School Boards Association Workshop: Extended Learning Opportunities

Join NHSBA, Reaching Higher NH, and the ELO Network in a rich workshop on extended learning opportunities (ELOs). Extended Learning Opportunities (ELOs) allow New Hampshire students to earn credit through learning experiences that happen outside the traditional classroom. The primary goals of the workshop include:

  • To provide an overview of ELOS, what they are and what they are not;

  • Conduct a walk-through of a sample district ELO policy;

  • Engage in deep dialogue with an expert panel in order to help schools develop an action plan for ELOs in their communities.

    Audience: This is a wonderful opportunity to begin transformative dialogue within your schools, districts and communities. Further, this session invites a wide audience including, but not limited to,  administrators, teachers, principals, school board members, and businesses.
